Instant Folgers?

Many moons ago I dated an audio engineering student. This was one of our fun little projects…dubbing a retro Folgers coffee commercial. I did two voices, the cute housewife and the old dude at the grocery store (and my old man voice is pretty bad, ha!). I just remembered it today and it made me smile. It used to be a dream of mine to be a voice over artist but it’s a very competitive field and I didn’t want to invest in all the recording equipment to try freelancing at home. I’d rather stick to my true love, writing.

Please pour yourself a damn fine cup of coffee and enjoy!

  1. Waaa haaa haaa! Mr Perkins is a sweet sounding fellow and he knows his coffee! My gramps, who will soon hit 104 years old, started on his Folgers journey in the 60’s and never looked back. I wonder if it was this commercial that turned him and gave him the secret to longevity? I got a real tickle out of this. It actually sounded a lot like the Leave it to Beaver era commercials.

  2. Weird, I commented here, but using my phone, I must have not posted – anyhoo, I was laughing my proverbials off watching this! Is that your real accent tho? I suspect that the old mans voice is closer to how you really speak no? I know this cos Munchkins are from Kansas, so now you are totally busted!

The young lady has such a lovely crisp edge on her voice there, now I really want to hear you speak! Normally!! πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€ ❀

    • Aw dang, that’s happened to me before. I had a feeling you’d be guffawing. πŸ˜€ I did change my voice a little to get into character. So it’s a little higher and softer to match Carol’s look. Ahaha you goof! I’m not a Munchkin, I’m the wicked witch! *cackle* I’ll see what I can do, maybe I’ll post a video on Instagram talking in my normal voice. But then you have to promise to do the same!
